9.1 Institute office language implementation committee

The Institute Office Language Implementation Committee regularly conducts meetings to discuss and resolve issues related to the promotion of Hindi in official work, ensuring that necessary steps are implemented effectively. One-day Hindi workshops are organized throughout the year to encourage and facilitate the progressive use of Hindi among staff members.
9.2. International day of yoga

The Institute celebrates the International Day of Yoga every year with active participation from staff and the public. Activities include yoga sessions, awareness programs, and meditation at the main campus and extension centres, as well as collaborations with local institutions. These efforts promote physical, mental, and spiritual well-being in the community.

9.3. Hindi Pakhwada

The Institute observes Hindi Pakhwada every year, organizing competitions such as essay writing, debate, noting and drafting, poetry recitation, and quiz for officers and staff as per Council guidelines. Prizes are awarded to winners to encourage the progressive use of Hindi in official work, with enthusiastic participation from all employees.

9.4. Poshan Maah

The Institute actively observes Poshan Maah every year to raise awareness on nutrition, anemia prevention, and the role of Ayurveda in public health. Activities include health camps, anemia screenings, yoga sessions, public lectures, distribution of food and medicines, tree plantation drives, and webinars. Outreach programs are conducted across Sikkim in collaboration with various government departments and organizations, benefiting hundreds of individuals and promoting sustainable wellness through Ayurveda.

9.5. Vigilance Awareness Week

The Institute observes Vigilance Awareness Week annually as per Council directives to promote integrity and transparency in public life. Activities include the administration of vigilance pledges, expert lectures, and competitions such as essay writing, debate, and slogan writing. Staff members actively participate, and winners are recognized with certificates and prizes.

9.6. Ayurveda Day

The Institute celebrates Ayurveda Day every year with a range of activities, including exhibitions, health camps, rallies, yoga demonstrations, school competitions, and public awareness programs. Outreach activities are conducted across Sikkim in collaboration with various programs and sub-centres, benefiting large sections of the community. The celebrations highlight Ayurveda’s relevance in promoting holistic health and wellness.

9.7. Swachchha Bharat Abhiyan

The Institute actively contributes to the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan through regular cleanliness drives at its main campus, sub-centres, and outreach activity sites. Special campaigns are also conducted at public places to promote hygiene awareness among the community. Staff members, along with local participants, engage in cleaning activities and interactive sessions, reinforcing the commitment to a clean and healthy environment.

9.8. 100 days intensified campaign on TB elimination

The 100-day intensified campaign at RARI, Gangtok, launched on December 7, 2024, focused on Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) to enhance public health awareness, especially regarding tuberculosis (TB). A total of 308 awareness lectures were delivered, and social media campaigns, street plays, and short films broadened the campaign’s impact. Pledge-taking activities reinforced commitment to TB eradication and preventive healthcare awareness.

9.9. Health Camps

The Institute regularly conducts health camps across Sikkim, providing free Ayurvedic consultations, medicines, and awareness programs on preventive healthcare. These camps are organized in collaboration with various government departments and local organizations, benefiting diverse sections of the community.

9.10. Environment Day Celebration

The Institute observes Environment Day every year with activities such as tree plantation drives, awareness programs, and distribution of medicinal plant saplings. These initiatives promote environmental conservation and highlight the role of medicinal plants in sustainable healthcare.
